Windrush 75th Anniversary

The 75th Anniversary brought together members of the Windrush Generation, their descendants, and the wider community for a day of celebration, reflection, and cultural exchange, featuring music, food and other activities. The all-day event began with a Parade from Landseer Road Park to Murray Road Park and closed with an Evening of Remembrance at the Murrayside Community Centre.

  • Olu Meduoye

    Olu Meduoye is a singer, songwriter, musician and worship leader from East London, UK. He currently serves as the worship pastor in his local church and also within the Vineyard Worship movement within the UK. His heart is for the church to seek intimate worship with Jesus and live lives completely abandoned to the will of God. He and his wife, Leshia, lead worship regularly in their church (Highway Vineyard, Stratford), and are regularly guest worship leaders at churches and events in London and around the UK.

  • Claire Angel

    Claire Angel is a singer, songwriter and can be heard singing Reggae, Roots Music, R&B, Soul, Pop, funky house, ballads, country & western and Gospel music. She's comfortable and credible in any genre, but favours Reggae because of her Jamaican roots & the early influence of her dad’s sound system. On stage, Claire Angel is magical. Her vocals will go from soft and whispering to strong and commanding effortlessly. Claire Angel has a smile that seems to simply say, relax and listen. Her songs/singles are being played nationally and internationally as in Europe, Jamaica and America online and on the radio.

  • Italo Skarcha

    Italo Skarcha is a dynamic reggae artist whose songs illustrate a deep sense of social, spiritual and cultural awareness. Skarcha was born in the UK and grew up in the poverty-stricken area of Winson Green in Birmingham. Skarcha is of Jamaican/African heritage and uses the art of music as his expression of his deep connection of his roots. Throughout his journey he has released hit songs with I-Wayne and Grammy award winning Kabaka Pyramid which got heavy rotation in Jamaica and worldwide. His potent lyrical content and flows bring truth, rights and up fullness which he is always honoured to share the vibrations.

  • Grand Fadda Hovis

    Grand Fadda Hovis is Birmingham’s no.1 Revival DJ. Some would say Birmingham Revivals Champion picking up over 22 awards for playing music. Grand Fadda Hovis is Birmingham’s 3-time runner up DJ of the year with the music to suit all generations. He is also a compare bringing many artists on stage from near and abroad.

  • Ipswich Reggae Choir

    Ipswich Reggae Choir was formed by Pat Bruce-Browne in August 2017. She loved to sing and loved reggae, there weren't any other choirs that sang what she liked so she set up her own group. Ipswich Reggae Choir is an exciting, non-audition, non-religious choir open to all who enjoy singing reggae music, regardless of skill or experience. The choir has performed at many indoor and outdoor events and festivals showcasing the underserved genre even though it has had a massive impact on popular culture for over 5 years.

  • Sound of Steel Steelband

    Sound of Steel Steelband has been formed since 2010 and performs at a variety of events up and down the country and beyond including Dubai, Kuwait and Oman. The band performs as a solo up to a quartet. The founder Jason started playing alongside my dad in a band called Tropical Islanders, his dad taught him the fundamentals of playing. He self-confesses his development is mainly self-taught but performing with a variety of musicians has helped increase his knowledge and understanding. He later joined Caribbean Harmonics Steelband which was one of Birmingham’s premier bands and was made up players that were all born in the Caribbean who had vast experience.
